Michael Deese Bio: Hi I'm Michael Deese, I was born on February 15 at McConnel Air Force Base Wichita Kansas the third of five boys. I am also the youngest of the first set of twins. My younger two brothers are also twins. My parents are Leroy and the late Josephine Deese (My Mother was also a twin). I come from a musical family. My Mother wrote the song "SEND ME THE PILLOW THAT YOU DREAM ON" at a young age and then sold the song in Memphis Tn. in 1950, My oldest brother, Terry plays the harmonica as a hobby and is a traveling RN. My younger brother, Donny writes songs (Donny is co-writer of the "Opening Up Doors" CD. I got my first guitar a silver tone from Sears and Roebuck co. for Christmas at the age of eight. I am "self-taught" My song writing ability comes natural, I'm truly Blessed. I have supported my family, as an OTR truck driver, for over twenty-five (25) years, but MUSIC has always been my first love. I have two sons, one daughter and grandchildren. I was raised in the town of Hernando, (DeSoto County) Mississippi. I learned to sing listening to my Mother and Father, along with country music legends such as Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Charlie Pride, Moe Bandy, Buck Owens and Kenny Rogers (just to name a few), on the radio. I also sing at the Nursing home's free as a community service, my brother Donny always said we’ll bring you to your knees with a good gospel and Bless his heart he wrote "The Golden Chariot” and “Jesus Committed No Crime” and I helped lol. I like Rodeos, festivals, out doors, swimming, BBQ's, and craw fish boils. Let the good times Roll. The song DEATH OF A HOBO was written by MR. Charles Forte a personal friend of my Mother’s and Father’s. This is a True story about the hobo, I was Honored to cut it, Mr. Forte is retired from the Southern Pacific Rail Road, a wonderful writer and friend. The Town of Mountain View, Arkansas is The Country, Bluegrass, Folk Music Capital of the World. Mountain View is located in the Heart of the Ozark Mountains and was home to the late Grandpa Jones and Jimmy Driftwood. In fact, the Jimmy Driftwood Barn is still alive and going strong. Jimmy Driftwood Wrote the song "Battle of New Orleans" in 1936. Johnny Horton made a hit record with the song and is well liked even today. The Ozark Mountain Folk Theater is also located here, along with Cash's White River Hoe Down, and you gonna love ANT MINNIE, The Back Street Theater and several more. We have many Attractions. We will treat you so many ways you are bound to like one of them! LOL We also play music on the City Court Yard Square 'most every day...weather permitting. Spring Fest is the 3rd weekend of April, Mountain View is famous for its BEAN FEST in late October, a gotta see is the out house race, that is so funny, Parade and Music on the square by Bands like THE TURNER FAMILY Blue grass Band, GREEN WILLIS, Odel Jackson or even Michael Deese, or Visit the Dulcimer Shop, where you can see these instruments being hand-made, craft stores, music shops, and some of the finest Trout fishing in the world.
